Second Shooter

I believe that a second shooter can add great value to your wedding gallery. Beyond allowing us to be in two places at once and getting alternate angles, my second shooter has always been a great helping hand to both me and the couple. Here are a few side by side shots taken by me and my second shooter from some recent weddings.

Left: Couple’s portrait. Right: Girl throwing frisbee during cocktail hour

In this first example, I was able to get portraits with the couple and their wedding party while my second shooter was shooting the lawn games during cocktail hour.

During the ceremony, I mostly focus on the couple while my second shooter is mostly focused on the guest. Of course, we’ll have some cross over but this way we know pretty much nothing is missed. While I photographed the groom giving his vows, my second shooter caught an emotional moment of one of the guests.

One of the main reasons why couples want a second shooter is for getting ready photos. With a second shooter, we can be in two places at the same time which helps the couple save so much time. In the above shot, my second shooter captured the groom putting a boutonniere on his brother while I photographed the bride getting her makeup done.

A second shooter is also super helpful during the first look as we can capture things from both the perspective of the bride and the groom.
