Three years ago I graduated from Emily Carr University having studied industrial design. Although I never found a job in that field, the lessons I learned there play a key role in my success as a photographer today. Click within to read about the top three things I learned in art school.

The cold went straight to my bones as I dunked a little waterproof camera partway through the cracked ice. This camera had traveled with us all the way from the warm waters of Maui only to be dunked into a frozen lake on Cypress mountain. Maybe the photos from the camera will turn out to be a pleasant surprise, much like the frozen landscape we were greeted by at the apex of our hike.
