Belcarra Wedding: Karine + Aaron

Karine and Aaron met during the 2010 Olympics on a snowboard trip to Sun Peaks.

Aaron remembers her smile behind the door when he arrived at the cabin. He remembers her pure joy on the mountain. He remembers leaving her behind when she got stuck, like, as soon as they got in there.

Karine remembers his smile and his laugh when he first got into the cabin. She remembers how handsome he looked getting ready to go snowboarding with his green jacket, blue pants and white goggles. She remembers how confident and skilled he was on the mountain.

At some point there was a walk alone through the snowy neighbourhood. There were laughs. There was some deeper talk. There was chemistry. There was a night out at the bar. He asked for her number and there have been a few more snowboard trips since then.

The wedding took place at Camp Howdy, and was a beautiful outdoor ceremony. They had all of their guests warm up their rings as they made their way to their seats, which such a unique touch as I've never seen that at a wedding before!

After the ceremony they were showered with confetti, and then we went and did some beautiful portraits while the guests had a mini olympics of lawn games. It was a beautifully sunny day, which is amazing because it rained the day before, and the day after as well!

Karine and Aaron chose to have their wedding at Camp Howdy because it combines everything that they love about the outdoors: mountain views, ocean, forest. They also wanted to have a venue where everything is be at the same place and people could just enjoy themselves, not worrying about a schedule and transportation.
