Ceremonies

Young Hip and Married says:

We're seeing an increasing trend towards pre-ceremony cocktail hours where the couple can mingle with their guests before the ceremony begins. Everyone starts the ceremony with a drink and some snacks - can't say no to that! Another big trend we think we'll be seeing more of in 2019 is couple forgoing traditional processionals. Instead of just the bride being walked down the aisle by her father, we're seeing many couples include a groom's walk or choose to walk in together.

Music

DJ BFAD says:

Latin Music and Latin-Pop including Reggaeton, Bachata, Salsa will continue to trend and possibly become even more popular. Relatives, co-workers, friends can all enjoy and it's easy to dance to, expect to see a lot on the summer's playlists. The early/mid 2000's is entering a 20-year-cycle so would expect to be getting a ton of requests from that era especially as many wedding couples were in school at this time. EDM Pop DJ's (Calvin Harris, DJ Snake, etc) will continue to release mainstream Top 40 singles that will popular on the dance floor. There are also new releases expected from Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Adele, Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus for 2019.

Wedding Planning

Stephanie from Sweetheart Events says:

I feel we will see more intimate weddings with the focus on guest experience and less traditional elements. Putting the focus on why they are getting married and the personal details that reflect who they are.

Decor

Wedding Decor

Bespoke Decor says:

Our clients are choosing more industrial and modern venues over rustic locations. We think the juxtaposition of the spaces and softer florals & decor details are something people are swooning over. Fabrics like velvet, textured linen and materials like lucite and acrylic are going to be very complimentary partners this season. Bright and rich colours are also becoming more and more popular which is fitting for Pantones 2019 colour of the year “ Living Coral”. We think clients will be asking for these pops in not only their florals but their decor details as well. We’re also finding that mixing black in as an accent colour is complemented by more typically seen ones like blush or pastels. The stark contrast and sophistication of the colours will be an unexpected touch. Neon signs with sweet sayings about love or a classic “mr & mrs _” has also been coming up a lot. Clients are not only showing us inspiration photos but asking where we can source this for them, we think this will be a huge statement splurge for bride & grooms.

Florals

Marlee from Flowerella says:

So far my inquiries are still very neutral for colours, and lighter tones, also greenery is still a big trend, however budgeting with more simplistic styles that I have noticed. A lot of loose hand tied arrangements that are very natural looking, which is more my style also in floristry.

Hope this helps with your wedding planning!
