You’re newly engaged and know you want to get engagement photos done as its good practice for the wedding so you’re thinking of where you can go. Here are my top 5 spots for engagement sessions that are in the Toronto/GTA area.
This is my favourite spot for engagement shoots in Toronto because of its versatility within a small area. Theres of course the bluffs which you can use as a backdrop from far away and from close up. Theres the water and then theres also a park with a bunch of greenery and paths that work really well for photos!
Downtown Toronto is a great spot for photos if you’re into an urban landscape. With Toronto being the biggest city in Canada it’s downtown core is full of interesting architecture and lines that can be used for unique compositions.
The Distillery District
With cobblestone paths and brick buildings the Distillery District is perfect the perfect spot for engagement photos if you want a more urban backdrop but without the big modern skyscrapers of Downtown Toronto.
Evergreen Brickworks used to be a quarry/brick factory that opened up over 100 years ago! The brick factory produced bricks for such well known locations in Toronto such as Casa Loma, Osgoode Hall and Massey Hall. Today the quarry is now a park and the brick factory is a public space/cultural centre. The park is great for nature photos and Evergreen Brickworks is actually a pretty great wedding venue!
Toronto Island which is located just a short ferry ride from the downtown core is the largest car free community in North America! On the main island theres great views of the Toronto city scape and a nice beach as well. Hop on over to Wards Island where theres a grid of little paths full of little houses for a more quaint experience.
