My couples rarely ask me what kind of gear do I use, but its a common discussion among photographers. The thing is, many photographers feel that gear matters very little in the grand scheme of creating great images and this is a sentiment that I share as well. An analogy I once read that does a good job of putting the importance of gear into perspective is this: If you have an amazing meal at a restaurant, you dont think; gee wiz, that chef must use some incredible pots and pans! It's the same idea with photography. With that said, I've got some pretty sweet pots and pans.

30 books read, 46 blog posts, and at least 83 separate occasions where I took out my camera tallies up the year. Instead of sharing an image from every time I took out my camera (like last year), I’m gonna instead share a few highlights and some thoughts behind them.

Agassiz Wedding: Chloe + Josh

Agassiz Wedding: Chloe + Josh

It was cold and wet, and I couldn't have been happier. The rain drips off my hair and onto my camera as I'm wrapping up the portraits for Chloe and Josh. Living in Vancouver, having rain on a wedding isn't an if, it's a when; therefore, the perfect wedding is really about mindset. Big thanks to Chloe and Josh for putting together such a fun wedding at an amazing location!
